Teteman is a town in the Jasikan District of the Volta Region of Ghana. It is located on the eastern border of Ghana on a mountain range that separates Ghana from Togo. It is an ancient town at an altitude of 1105 feet. The mountain range has a forest reserve which gives Teteman a serene and tranquil feel. Although Teteman is somewhat isolated from the outside World, the Town has many of the amenities of a modern day township. The town has street lighting and a pressurized water pump. This prevents community members from having to go down into the valley for water and carry it back up almost 1000 feet.
According to the census of 2000, the population of Teteman is 15,629. Teteman is one of the primary towns of the Jasikan district which has a total of population of 110,452. The people of Teteman speak Lelemi, a Ghana Togo Mountain language.
