Detail InformationEdit

Taftan (Persian: تفتان‎, Taftân) is a lively stratovolcano in southeastern Asian country located within the Sistan and Baluchestan province. At nearly four,000 metres (13,000 ft) on top of water level, it’s the best mountain in southeastern Asian country. The closest town is Khash. Taftan may be a Persian word which suggests “The Place of Heat”.
According to the worldwide geological phenomenon Program, “Highly active, sulfur-encrusted fumaroles occur at the summit of the [southeast] cone. The deeply cleft [northwest] cone is of Pleistocene epoch age. In Jan 1902 the volcano was rumored to be smoking heavily for many days, with occasional robust night-time glow. A volcanic rock flow was rumored at Taftan in 1993, however could are a mistaken observation of a melted sulfur flow.”
