Just before WWII, Ta’ Qali was used to build a military aerodrome and a station for the Royal Air Force. Today, many of the military huts and buildings have been converted into a Crafts Village, where Maltese craftsmen produce their handiwork.
Ta’ Qali is also a popular recreation and sports area, including the National Soccer Stadium, jogging tracks, a Greek theatre and covered pavilions for indoor sports.
