Landlocked by South Africa to the west and Mozambique in the east, Swaziland, one of the smallest African countries, is also one of the last absolute monarchies in the World. Officially known as the Kingdom of Swaziland, Swaziland contains several game parks and reserves which are extremely popular tourist destinations. The western half of this country which is largely mountainous, however, descends to a lowveld as we travel to the east.
With a diversified economy dependent on agriculture, forestry and mining, despite poverty, Swaziland is known for its civility and peaceful character. Closely linked to South African economy, over 90 percent Swaziland imports and 70 percent exports are to and from this neighboring country. Predominantly Christian, majority of Swaziland population is ethnically Swazi, mixed along with a small number of Zulu and White Africans.
