Swarg Ashram or Kali Kambliwale Panchayati Kshetra, founded by Shri Baba Vishuddha Nandaji, is one of the oldest institutions in Rishikesh. Situated on the eastern bank of Ganga River, this ashram encompasses various ashrams. The ashram also encompasses different stores, shopping complexes, cafés, parks, libraries, ayurvedic dispensaries, meditation centres, hotels and restaurants for the travellers. Several processions, chanting, birth and death ceremonies take place regularly in Swarg Ashram. Furthermore, travellers also visit this place for studying ayurvedic medicines and taking yoga tours. Swarg Ashram can be reached either by walking through the Ram Jhula built across the Ganga River or by crossing the Ganga River by boat. There are various ashrams, caves, temples inhabited by the saints and rooms that are the residential quarters for students, pilgrims, priests and travellers within the ashram complex.

HistoryEdit

Swarg Ashram or Kali Kambliwale Panchayati Kshetra, was built in the memory of Saint Swami Vishudhanand, who was also known as Kali Kamli Wala among the locals. Earlier this ashram was run by the Baba and his followers, which is now under the administration of a trust. The main office of this ashram is situated at Rishikesh and its other branches are found at all the pilgrimage centres in the area of Garhwal. Kali Kambliwale also has its branch at the highest altitude region of Himalayan ranges up to Kailash. The main motive of this ashram is to provide boarding and lodging facilities to the travellers.
