Sursagar Lake is specially used for boating purpose, this well-liked tourist destination appearance very lovely within the moonlight nights. A concrete wall is built round the lake, where the folks can sit and luxuriate in. Every Saturday and Sunday evenings, special lightings are done round the lake. The lake is occupied with a range of fishes and turtles but fishing is strictly prohibited. Through out the year, the lake is filled with water and during rainy season, the water level shake up to the brink. Underground gates are created to empty out this lake just in case of the danger that lead the water to the Vishwamitri stream. At the center of the lake, there’s a 120 feet tall standing statue of Lord Shiva which was created by Vadodara Municipal Corporation.

Sursagar Lake formerly called Chandan Talao, lies in the middle of the city of Vadodara. This lake was rebuilt with stone banks and masonry in the 18th century. This lake remains full of water throughout the year.
