A Sundarnarayan temple is built by Gangadhar Yashwant Chandrachud in 1756. The main deity Lord Vishnu, flanked by Lakshmi and Saraswati is placed in the sanctum of the temple. There are small carvings of Hanuman, Narayana and Indira on the walls. The east-facing temple has three porches with balcony seating, lobed arches and globular domes. The temple presents imposing architecture especially the vaulted niche, which strikes a chord with the Mughal sculpture. Other significant features of this finely carved stone temple is that it is erected at such an angle that on 21st March, rays of the rising Sun first fall exactly upon the idols.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Sunder Narayana temple is built by Gangadhar Yashwant Chandrachud in 1756.The Sundar narayan temple is located near the Ahilyabai Holkar Bridge in Nashik. This temple was built in the year 1756. The deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu who is also known as Sundarnarayan. The most remarkable thing about this temple is the angle at which it is built. The sun rays of rising sun first fall directly on the idols on March 21st every year. BUS : Nashik city is well connected to neighboring cities in Maharashtra state by Government buses. A number of buses are running between major cities of Maharashtra to Nashik city. The Maharashtra state transport (ST) buses ply from Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Shirdi etc. to Nashik. The bus ticket per seat ranges from Rs.100 to Rs.700 based on the distance and the type of bus service offered. There are also private luxury buses and volvo buses from Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad to Nashik. There are also Non A/C sleeper and A/C sleeper buses from Mumbai to Nashik. Some buses are there from other states like Madhya pradesh and Gujarat to Nashik. There are buses from Bhopal, Indore, Pathan, Rajkot, Valsad, Baroda, Ahmedabad and many other cities in other states to Nashik. Most of these buses are Volvo A/C buses. For local transport Bus travel is also the most extensive mode among the travel options present in Nasik. You can reach any part of Nasik as all major stops are well connected and the bus network has been well established. Bus fares in Nasik will range around Rs 5 to 30, depending on the distance covered through travel. Nasik Darshan buses are also available for tourists to see the local places of attraction.

Train : The nearest railway station to Nashik is the Nashik Road Railway Station which is about 9 Kms. from Nasik city center. Nashik Road railway station is directly connected to Mumabai and there are regular train services from Nasik Road to many cities in India. Once a tourist reaches the Nasik Road railway station, he can hire a taxi to visit Nashik city. The taxi fare from Nasik Road to Nashik city is around Rs.200. A number of trains are available from Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Agra, Allahabad, Amritsar, Gauhati, Bhuneshwar, New Delhi, Lucknow, Manmad, Nanded, Varanasi etc..

Air : Nashik’s Ozar Airport is located at a distance of 24 km (15 mi) from the city center. [Deccan Airways] used to operate flights to Mumbai from a couple of years ago which were later taken off due to lack of passengers and will operate soon after upgradation to an airport with international standards. Nashik has another airport at Gandhinagar with a shorter runway and hence unfit for modern-day passenger aircraft. The government run Vayudoot used an operate a service to Mumbai from this Gandhinagar Airport during the 1980s. A new Passenger Terminal at Ozar is under construction. Also there is a cargo airport at Ozar. A military airport is present in Deolali Cantonment.

Others : Auto rickshaws are also available in the city of Nasik, and these run on meter. Auto fares normally start off with Rs 15 for the first couple of kilometers and Rs 8 for each additional kilometer. Auto rickshaws are the safest mode of travel in Nasik and night rates are not applicable in Nasik.
