Summerfield United Methodist Church is found within the historic Juneautown (East Town) neighborhood of downtown urban center, Wisconsin.The church is an element of the United Methodist Church (UMC) and is understood for having established many community establishments.Summerfield’s original congregation shaped in 1852. By 1857 the congregation stirred to Biddle Street (now Kilbourn Avenue) and United States President Street and was named Summerfield in honor of Reverend John Summerfield, Associate in Nursing Irish Methodist sermoniser.A home for the aged referred to as the urban center Protestant Home was established at this location in 1884 and also the Methodist Manor in 1890.The current house of worship was inbuilt 1904 for 1st Community Church on the corner of Cass Street and Juneau Avenue. The gothic church, with its 73-foot-tall (22 m) tower, was made victimisation arenaceous rock and stone.In 1919, Goodwill Industries of Wisconsin was based within the basement of this location. Summerfield then integrated with 1st Community Church in 1929 and also the combined congregation then occupied the church.
