The quaint town of Struga is World-famous for hosting the annual Struga Poetry Evenings along with other important festivals. The scenic Drim River with its breathtaking views is the best place to relax and spend some leisure time while enjoying your favorite drinks. Struga as compared to Ohrid has its own share of historical landmarks and ancient structures that attract tourists throughout the year.
The ancient Church of St. George built around 1835 is a popular tourist destination. The church’s icon believed to have been found in the lake and painted in the year 1267 is one of its major attractions. The colorful street shops at the Old Bazaar sell some of the best souvenirs. The bazaar is lined with several coffee shops that serve the best beverages. The Ottoman architectural style is exquisitely depicted in the Halveti Teke or Muslim Monastery that was founded by Hasan Baba.
