Stratos (Greek: Στράτος; ‘wings of war’) is a village and a former municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Agrinio, of which it is a municipal unit. Stratos is located on GR-5/E55 (Antirrio – Ioannina) and NW of Agrinio, N of Messolonghi and S of Amfilochia and Arta. Stratos is situated in the Acheloos Valley and the Acheloos river flows to the east and south. A pond and a swamp area lies to the east along with a 2 km long bridge that used to be one of the longest in Greece. Mountains cover the northern part of the municipal unit.
Much of the population are rural and the main economy is based on agriculture and businesses. The income is in the middle range. The village was affected by floods as waters of Acheloos River overflowed its banks in December 2005. Homes were flooded and some properties were damaged. Roads were flooded, and crops were partially ruined.
