The abbey was a Cistercian abbey Neukloster in Wiener Neustadt and is now a priory to Heiligenkreuz. Prior is since 2011, Father Walter Ludwig.
The Cistercian Abbey of the Holy Trinity in Wiener Neustadt, briefly called New Monastery is one of the most recent medieval monastic foundations in Austria. Founded by King Frederick IV in 1444, its history dates back to the second half of the 19th Century, in 1881 gave the New Monastery on its independence and joined “”to everlasting times”” with the Cistercian monastery of Heiligenkreuz, Lower Austria.
