The bootmaker´s museum in Rechnitz is a real speciality because it is the only museum of this kind throughout Austria. Until WW II Rechnitz was the stronghold of the Cszimenmacher gilde (“Cszimen” is the Hungarian word for boot), nowadays this occupation cannot be found easily any more. The museum, which can be found in the community center, shows a complete boot´s workshop and several full machines. The guided tour with boot master Julius Koch will be a real experience for you and your children.
