Detail InformationEdit
Stewart Memorial Presbyterian Church, currently Redeemer Missionary Baptist Church, could be a grassland college church in urban center, Minnesota, within the Lyndale neighborhood. The grassland college design was uncommon to be used in churches. This church, that contains a flat roof and broad overhang, however lacks a tower and different ancient church options, was impressed by Frank role player Wright’s Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois. It had been designed by the firm of Henry Purcell & Feick before patron saint Grant Elmslie became a partner of the firm. The congregation was associate branch of 1st Presbyterian Church and was named when the Reverend David Stewart.
The main portion of the church is organized around a cuboidal area with light-weight provided by a wall of eastward-facing green-tinted windows. It’s a narrower section with a deep balcony that extends to the south. Decoration is comparatively modest, consisting chiefly of wood strips in geometric patterns. The outside is featured in brick and stucco. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. In 1988, Redeemer Missionary Baptist Church bought the building and raised over $2 million for restoration and renovation.
