The structure at Xalapa, Veracruz, (“Estadio Xalapeno”) is found some blocks south and downhill of the middle of city, and might be simply seen from the terraces of Parque city.The place was known within the Twenties by William K. Boone, then president of the native Chamber of Commerce, as a natural structure the same as those of the classical stadiums and theaters of Ancient Ellas.
The site had been a mosquito-infested fen referred to as the “Cienega American state Melgarejo” that was drained and stuffed below the direction of the Chamber of Commerce, with men provided by the Jalapa Railroad and power service (JRR&PC).The structure Jalapeno was inaugurated with athletic games on might 5–7, 1922.
