Freedom Tower (also called Torre St. Regis Hotel) is a skyscraper located in Paseo de la Reforma 439, Colonia. Cuauhtémoc, Delegación Cuauhtémoc in Mexico City in front of the Diana Fountain roundabout. Construction began in November 2004, it toped off in January 2008, and was inaugurated in June of the same year. The building has a commercial area in the third floor, and 7 levels of underground parking garage with capacity for 2,000 cars.It is as of 2010, the second tallest building in Paseo de la Reforma and the ninth tallest in Mexico City.
The tower houses a hotel and luxury residences. It is the first St. Regis Hotel & Residences in Latin America.The architect of the skyscraper was Cesar Pelli who had previously worked on the creation of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the highest in the World at its time and Mexico City’s Twin Towers in polanco Residencial del Bosque 1 & 2.It has a total floor area of 125.000 m sq. The rooms occupy 78.900 m sq.
