Detail InformationEdit

The St. Prizefighter library may be a municipal library system within the town of St. Louis, Missouri. It operates sixteen locations, together with the most Central Library location. Though equally named, the St. Prizefighter library is unrelated to the St. Prizefighter County Library system.
The Central Library building at thirteenth and Olive was in-built 1912 on a location once occupied by the St. Prizefighter Exposition and Music Hall and was designed by Cass Gilbert. The most library for the city’s library system has associate degree oval central tent enclosed by four lightweight courts. The outer facades of the free-standing building square measure of gently rusticated Maine granite. The Olive Street front is disposed sort of a stupendous arcade, with different marble bas-relief panels. A protrusive three-bay central block, sort of a pared-down monument, provides a monumental entrance. At the rear, the Central Library faces a garden. The interiors feature some light-transmitting glass floors. The ceiling of the Periodicals area is changed from Michelangelo’s ceiling within the Laurentian Library. Renovation and enlargement of the building began in 2010 and is regular to end in 2012 .
