Detail InformationEdit
There has been a church on this location ever since the year 1100. The first church of Höhnhart was built in Romanesque Style.
The church you see today is mainly of the 18th century but the foundations of the original Romanesque building can still be seen. The name ,Honhartskirchen´ first appeared in historical documents around 1230. The year 1540 saw comprehensive extension and augmentation to the church with a pointed Gothic style tower added. In the year 1719 it was restored in Baroque style with the tower roofed to its present form. The most recent alterations to the interior date from the years 1987 and 1988. The interior design is mainly of the 17th and 18th century. In 1862 Höhnhart received the status of an individual parish.
