St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church could be a parish placed within the Riverdale section of The Bronx, New York. The parish was created in 1939 by Francis Spellman, then the bishop of recent House of York, because the successor to the St. Gabriel’s Church on East thirty seventh Street in Manhattan, that was demolished in 1937 to accommodate the development of the Queens-Midtown tunnel. The pews, altars and statues of the initial church were resettled to the new structure, and plenty of of the church’s Irish-American congregants conjointly affected to The Bronx to be close to their parish.
The Right Reverend Francis W. Walsh, pastor of the Church of the belief in Peekskill, New York, and president of the school of recent Rochelle, was named pastor- a post he control till his retirement in 1969.
