Detail InformationEdit
Chapel of St Francis Xavier built in the year 1928 is located just opposite the famous Eduardo Marques Square in Coloane. Baroque style of architecture is finely displayed in the overall structure of the chapel. Portuguese color scheme of mustard and white, classical oval windows and a small bell tower are some of the major highlights of St Francis Xavier.
Just opposite the chapel is a spacious plaza having arcaded restaurants. An important monument commemorating the victory of locals over pirates in 1910 is also located in the vicinity of the church. Some of the most sacred Christian relics in Asia are housed in the chapel. The wall of a room on the right of St Francis Xavier is decorated with an interesting painting of a Kum Lam that is compared with Virgin Mary.
