St. Brigid’s Roman Christian church, or St. Brigid’s, or Famine Church, could be a church settled on 123 Avenue B and East Seventh Street, on the jap fringe of Tompkins sq. Park within the Alphabet town section of the East Village of Manhattan. Related to the church is that the parish college. Brigid college consisting of grades Pre-K through eight, has been living since 1856.
The church is known as when St. Brigid, the defender of babies, blacksmiths, boatmen, cattle, chicken farmers, kids whose folks aren’t married, dairymaids, farm employees, fugitives, Ireland, mariners, midwives, nuns, poets, printing presses, students and travellers. Just like the neighborhood it serves, Saint Brigid’s Church has had a colourful and riotous history since its beginnings in 1848.
