St. Ann’s Cathedral was associate degree Armenian Catholic cathedral and national shrine situated in big apple, New York, u. S.. It had been the seat for the Eparchy of Our girl of Nareg. The church had 2 locations within the city: the previous St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on the Lower side of Manhattan and at the previous St. Vincent Diamond State Paul Church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The Armenian Catholic parish of St. Ann continues to operate during a church of the Roman Catholic jurisdiction of borough.
Father Mardiros Meguerian was appointed because the 1st priest to minister to Armenian Catholics in big apple. He was sent by Patriarch Stephan Peter X Azarian in 1896. Meguerian was named the final Vicar of Armenian Catholics within the u. S. In 1911. He was succeeded by Father Haroutioun Maljian whose ministry in big apple spanned fifty years from 1921-1971. It had been throughout his successors pastorate, Father Krikor Guerguerian, that Bishop Mikael Nerses Setian was sent to big apple in 1982 to guide the freshly established Apostolic bishopric of u. S. Of America and North American country for the Armenians. Till now the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Roman Catholic Churches in borough and Queens.
