Sree vallabha Temple, in Pathanamthitta, is in a small town called Thiruvalla. The Sreevallabha temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The people staying in the area are very much desicated to the temple. Sree Vallabha temple here is one of the important pilgrim centers of the Vaishnavites all over India. There is a lake in front of the temple, which is bellieved to be naturally made. A granite pillar carved out of single piece with an image of Garuda on its top stands in front of the temple. The pillar, which serves as a flag staff, is 60 ft high and is made of granite. It is believed that its bottom touches the water table. Kathakali, the folk art of kerala, is performed almost on all days in this temple as offerings by devotees. Ladies are not allowed near the sanctum sanctorum.

The Sree Vallabha Temple is 400-year-old temple on the banks of the River Manimala has a beautiful 8 ft idol of Sree Vallabha within the sanctum sanctorum. The legendary architect Perunthachan, constructed the unique Garuda Sthambha, a 54 ft flag mast made of a single block of granite. During the 10-day annual festival held in February-March, a whopping 12,000 bunches of padatti pazham (a variety of bananas) are made as offerings on the first day. It is also perhaps the only temple in Kerala where Kathakali is performed as a ritual offering every night. (Open 0430 – 1130 hrs, 1700 – 2000 hrs. Kathakali Puja 2200 – 0100 hrs).
