Detail InformationEdit

Following up Schlossgasse street, visitors are taken straight to Spitzenberg Castle.
In the course of history a number of fires have cast their shadows over the castle, and after the worst blaze ever in 1865 the castle was not re-erected until 1917. Over the centuries, several notable people have owned Spitzenberg Castle, among them Dr. Friedrich Mauerkircher, Bishop of Passau, who died in 1485. The remains of the former ring wall lining Schlossgasse street are said to date back to the era of Bishop Friedrich.
