Southaven, a town in DeSoto County, Mississippi, may be a residential district of Memphis, Tennessee. Southaven is traversed from north to south by the I-55 state highway. Whereas its name would indicate otherwise, the town of Southaven is really within the northmost corner of Mississippi. The name derives from the very fact that Southaven is found south of Whitehaven, Memphis. Southaven was the childhood home of noted author John Grisham, United Nations agency conjointly practiced law there for pretty much a decade, and of singer and songster Cory Branan.
