The composer Archives and Center for yankee Music (SACAM) documents yankee music through historical artifacts and repository records in multiple formats. The middle is a component of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign library system.The Center is found within the United States President Band Building on the field of the University Of Illinois. It operates as a deposit, with annual rotating exhibits on themes like Baseball and Music, girls and Music, Technology and Music, and events throughout the annual Nov Music Month in Champaign-Urbana.
All collections ar accessible to the general public and ar often employed in exhibit displays and public programming.The Center opened in 1994 with the transfer from the University Bands of the composer and Clarke personal papers, and connected materials, University Library. (The Bands had previous nonheritable composer’s papers from a private association between Sousa and United States President, the University of Illinois’ initial band-master.) Since then, further collections are supplemental.
