Skanderborg, with a population of 18,253 (1 January 2011), is a town in Denmark just southwest of Aarhus. It is more or less a suburb today, located in Skanderborg municipality, Jutland. The town has three churches; one of which used to be part of Skanderborg castle, the traditional hunting retreat of Danish kings from the 12th-16th centuries.
