Silesian Philharmonic, founded in 1945, more than 60 years is known for promoting music among the communities of the Silesian region and the promotion of Polish musical culture abroad.
Music lovers can participate in numerous concerts held in the building concert halls. Silesian Philharmonic is organizing one of the leading cultural events in the country’s cyclical – International Competition for Conductors. Gregory Fitelberg, which takes place in Katowice, every 5 years.
This competition is considered one of the most important competitions in Poland.
