Shymkent is the third most densely inhabited capital city of South Kazakhstan Province in Kazakhstan. A notable cultural centre with an international airport, this city has a major railroad junction on the Turkestan-Siberia Railways. Founded in the 12th century as a caravanserai, this popular city grew as a commercial center for trade between wanderers and the then settled people of the region.
This city is located at the border of Uzbekistan, is an excellent getaway to explore Aksu-Zhabaghly nature reserve, Turkistan, Otrar, Almaty and Tashkent. An ethnographical park “Ken-baba”, a water park, regional museums, eight other parks, and drama theaters, Opera and Ballet Theaters, Shymkent has been attracting travelers for a very long time. This town provides activities like hunting and fishing, with excellent mountain tourism is a favored destination for travelers from all around the globe.
