The Shri Samartha Vagdevta Mandir was established in 1935 as the branch of Satkaryottejak Sabha Institute. This place is considered to be of historical importance as it is home to various ancient letters, chronicles and numerous manuscripts. These manuscripts are based on different subjects and are available in various languages. Shri Nanasaheb Deo, who was one of the prominent legal practitioners of the Dhule region, founded this institute. This institute houses a collection of literature of about 300 saints, which reflects the work and research by Shri Nanasaheb Deo. It is regarded as the place of worship of Vagdevta, who is the Goddess of Literature. The study material preserved in this institute is considered as the major source of reference for the study of Indian saints of any stream.
