The temple of Shree Balaji Mandir is located at Charkop, Kandivali (West). It is claimed to be the second home place of Lord Venkateshwara after Tirupati Temple. Every month Abhishekham is performed of shree balaji, The Abhishekham is performed on Shravana Nakshatra. Lord Shree Balaji is offered arghyam, padhvam, etc. followed by applying scented oil (Attar) on Shree Balaji. Then turmeric paste is applied on Lord Balaji, then the idol is bathed with perfumed water. Meanwhile Purusha Sukta, Sri Sukta, Bhu Sukta, Shanti Panchakam and brahma Smahita are sung by the priest of our Shree Balaji Temple, Charkop. Then the lord of wealth is dressed up and garlands are offered. Vaikunth Ekadashi is the event celebrated at Lord Balaji Temple. Vaikunta Ekadashi is the Ekadashi that is observed in the Shukla Paksha of Dhanurmas as per the Hindu Calendar. Believers claim that the temple is built considering the Shilpa Shashtra, Agama Shashtra and Vastu Shashtra becomes the wish full-filler one. Devotees arrive here to fulfil their wishes and to be blessed.

The Mandir was established in 1983 under the auspices of Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam. Before talking about the Mandir, a few words about the Ashramam. This Ashramam is headquartered at Srirangam in Tamil Nadu, between the rivers of Cauvery and Kolledam, near Tiruchirappally and is presently headed by an eminent scholar-Saint, His Holiness Sri Ranga Ramanuja ahadesikan (Srimushnam Andavan). The Ashramam has Branches in New Delhi, Rishikesh, Hyderabad, Tirumala-Tirupathi, Bangalore, Mysore (Melkottai), Chennai, Neyveli, Kumbakonam, Dombivli (near Mumbai), etc. The Ashramam besides being a religious institution of Vaishnavites (following Munithraya Parampara), has several social activities to its credit. It is conducting an Arts and Science College at Srirangam which offers courses on latest lines including Micro-Biology, Computer Science etc. It publishes a monthly magazine “Sri Ranganatha Paduka” which carries informative articles on religion and Hindu scriptures. An Ayurvedic Dispensary established since 1975 is doing service to the common man by giving free medical aid to the poor and needy. Led by the kind hearted Guru Srimad Srimushnam Andavan it has many more ambitious plans for the upliftment of humanity. Taxi : Metered taxis are a useful mode of transport in Mumbai. Since they are metered, they are economical and also relatively comfortable. Bus : BEST bus services are second most extensive intra city transport system. Mumbai has an excellent road transportation system. State owned buses connect Mumbai to all neighbouring points. Many Deluxe and Super Deluxe buses are available to travel in and out of the city. Bus fare is about Rs 3 to 4 per kilometer.
Train : Mumbai is the headquarters of Indian railway system. Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Station is the major one which connects all most parts of Indian cities to Mumbai. Other railway stations in Mumbai are Dadar and Kurla, and Churchgate. Suburban railway is the backbone of the transport system. Three main railway lines connect most of the city. Trains are always on time and economical, however they might be crowded in peak hours. The basic fare may range from 5 INR to 100 INR. The trains run from 4 am to 1pm, and there are trains arriving at the station every five minutes. It is also advisable to take care of valuables even in the first class section. Rush hour constitutes office timings from 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 7pm. The traveller should avoid the rush hour. Women travellers can make use of the separate women compartments and they might be less crowded than the general compartments.

Others : Auto richshaws: The auto rickshaws of Mumbai are the most common means of transport and are cheap also. they charge Rs 9 for the first 1.6 km and Rs 5 for km covered afterwards. The night charge is 25% more of the total charge. However, one needs to be careful as these auto rickshaws use longer routes in order to increase their fare amount.
