The tower set in Dubuque, Iowa, is one among the last remaining shot towers within the us. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a recognized image of town. At its location close to the Mississippi, the Tower will be seen from the riverwalk and is presently undergoing intensive renovations. It stands 120’5″ tall.
The tower was inbuilt 1856 to supply lead shot for the military.In 1976, the tower was listed within the National Register of Historic Places. Tuckpointing and repairs presently followed, and in 2004, the tower became a part of current riverfront renovations.
