Located just across the Durbar Square Temple Complex, the Shiva Parvati Temple was built by Bahadur Shah, son of Prithvi Narayan Shah, during the late 1700s. Standing over a double stage plinth that could have been a dancing platform at one time, this temple is pretty young by Kathmandu standards. The popular images of Shiva-Parvati looking down a window are are true pictures of the Kathmandu Shiva Parvati Temple.
