Shin’onsen is a town located in Mikata District, Hygo Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on October 1, 2005, as a result of the merger between the towns of Onsen and Hamasaka, both from Mikata District. As of May 1, 2008,the town has an estimated population of 17,542. The total area is 241.0 Square kilometers.
