Shahaji Chhatrapati Museum is at fresh Palace in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Curious and interesting set from the possessions of Maharaja Shahaji Chhatrapati like guns, trophies and clothes are potted here. The Maharaja was died freshly died in 1983. British architect Charles Mant designed the New Palace in 1881 in the Indo-Sarcenic style. The museum also has large, brilliant weapons collection, including a gold-plated, double-barreled shotgun, some swords, and other guns. There is also one of Aurangzeb’s swords at the Shahaji Chhatrapati Museum. Kolhapur is well associated by air, rail and road with major cities of India. Hotels are existing in Kolhapur .

Shree Chhatrapati Shahu Museum, Kolhapur is a museum in Kolhapur town in Indian state of Maharashtra. The museum is housed in the new palace building completed in 1881. The costumes, weapons, games, jewellery, embroidery and paraphernalia such as silver elephant saddles and the interesting collections from the possessions of Maharaja Shahaji Bhonsle Chhatrapati like guns, trophies and clothes are housed in the museum..Abounded in culturally rich heritage that displays immense art of performance that is depicted in every activity like wrestling, Danpatta, Lathi, Mallakhamb etc.Royal Palace completed during 1884 displays fine combination of Hindu and British architecture. Palace has been occupied partially by royal family and is surrounded by well maintained garden.Sahu Mouseum a part of Palace has rare paintings, weaponary and arterials. It also houses stuffed animals & birds which attracts children. Darbar hall also displays richness of darbar decorum of the kingdom.
