Sermersooq could be a new municipality in Gronland, operational from one Gregorian calendar month 2009. It’s home to Nuuk (formerly known as Godthåb), the capital of Gronland, and is that the most thickly settled municipality within the country, with 21,232 inhabitants as of Gregorian calendar month 2010. The municipality consists of former municipalities of japanese and southwestern Gronland, every named once the most important settlement at the time of formation.
The municipality is found in south-central and japanese Gronland, with the realm of 531,900 km2 (205,367.7 sq mi). It’s the second largest municipality within the World by space, once Qaasuitsup. Within the south, it’s flanked by the Kujalleq municipality, with the border running aboard Alanngorsuaq recess. The waters flowing round the western lineation of the municipality square measure that of Labrador Sea, that to the north narrows all the way down to type Davis Strait separating the island of Gronland from Baffin Island.
