The District Municipality of Sechelt is on the lower Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. or so fifty klick northwest of Vancouver, Sechelt is accessible to the dry land of Canadian province via a forty minute ferry trip between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, and a twenty five minute drive from Langdale on main road a hundred and one, currently referred to as the Sunshine Coast main road. The municipality takes its name from the Coast Salish Shishalh folks, WHO initial settled the realm thousands of years agone, and means that “land between 2 waters”.
