SculptureCenter may be a up to date art deposit that’s placed in Long Island town within the borough of Queens in ny town. Supported by artists in 1928, SculptureCenter may be a not-for-profit arts establishment dedicated to experimental and innovative developments in up to date sculpture. SculptureCenter commissions new work and presents exhibits by rising and established, national and international artists.
SculptureCenter has been a lively contributor to ny City’s cultural community since 1928. Originally supported as “The Clay Club” by Dorothea Denslow, SculptureCenter renamed itself in 1944 and in 1948 captive to a outbuilding on East 69th Street in Manhattan. Here it established a ground floor gallery area dedicated exclusively to sculpture with workshops and studio area on the higher floors.
Over the course of subsequent time period, because the field of sculpture swollen and evolved, SculptureCenter’s exhibition and teaching programs have yet. In 2001, SculptureCenter purchased a former streetcar shop in Long Island town, Queens, that was redesigned by creator and designer Lin. SculptureCenter’s new facility opened to the general public in Dec 2002, when completion of the primary part of building renovation.
