Detail InformationEdit

The castle is located amidst the village of Absam in a park which is surrounded by a wall. Once it was a dairy and belonged to the Augsburg convent in the early medieval years with the ´Herren von Kripp´ as its representatives since 1454. Due to an earthquake in the 17th century a part of the building was destroyed and rebuilt in 1711 in Baroque style. The farm opposite of the castle, with the coats of arms of Tirol, Austria and the Kripp family on its facade, also belongs to the estate which has been owned by the ´Herren von Kripp´ for more than 500 years now.
