Sayaxché could be a municipality within the El Petén department of Republic of Guatemala, on the Río La Pasión watercourse.The city was based in 1874 to produce accommodation for forest employees of Jamet Sastré work company. It acquire a municipal standing in 1929.El Rosario park is found simply east of the city. The archeological sites of Ceibal and Dos Pilas area unit set inside the municipal boundaries.
