Saqqaq could be a settlement within the Qaasuitsup municipality in western Greenland. Based in 1755 as Solsiden, Saqqaq had 188 inhabitants in 2010. The village’s Kalaallisut name could be a translation of the Danish which means “Sunny Side”, in regard to its position relative to Livets prime. It’s the location name for the Saqqaq culture.
