Santee could be a residential district town in port of entry County, Calif. With a population of fifty three,413 at the 2010 census. Though it’s a section of the East County region, Santee is found simply eighteen miles (29 km) from the ocean. Town is connected to the lineation by State Route fifty two, a six-lane pike that runs from interstate five in La Jolla to State Route sixty seven in El Cajon. Town is bisected by the port of entry stream, a linear greenway that has parks, trails and quite one,100 acres (4.5 sq. Kilometer) of natural bank environment. The city’s potential for growth and progress was touted in a very port of entry Union-Tribune editorial titled “All Roads result in Santee”.
