Santa Elena is found on the shores of Lake Peten Itza within the Peten department of Republic of Guatemala. It’s connected by a causeway to its sister city of Flores (the capital of the Peten department) and also the 2 (together with San Benito) ar usually named as simply Flores. It’s the situation for Flores International aerodrome, that is found simply outside the city.
