Sant Pere Pescador is surrounded by countryside, and is set in one of the most beautiful bays on the Mediterranean. Its first historical record dates from the year 974, and the village was the stage for important events in 1466 and 1467, during the war between the forces of the “Generalitat” and king Joan II. The drying out of marshland and pools in the 17th and 18th centuries, along with redistribution of land, caused a considerable rise in the village population.
