Sangli is a city that is located in the Sangli district of the state of Maharashtra. The place is known for its turmeric production and it is located on the banks of the River Krishna. The city was once a princely state and was part of the Chalukya Empire. There are many historical landmarks that are located in the city of Sangli and one of the main attractions is the Ganesh Temple that is located in the city. The place is also a wine growing region and there is a wine park that is located around 30 km from the place. This is also an interesting place to visit and one can taste wine that is made locally as well. The city of Sangli is also known for its cuisine and one must try the local cuisine when travelling to the place. Since the town is well developed one can see many malls in and around the town. By Air : The nearest major international airport is located at Mumbai and it is situated around 390 km from the place. The Pune airport is located around 237 km from the city of Sangli. Taxis are available from both the places and they charge around Rs 7 per km for the trip for non A/C sedans.

By Train : Sangli has two major train stations and these are served extensively by many trains from different parts of the country. Miraj Junction and the Sangli Junction are the two main stations and they are connected to different places such as Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Ahmadabad, Pune, Bangalore, Mysore, Goa, Cochin, Surat, Vadodara, Bhopal and many other cities. Ticket prices vary according to the different places. Trains are the easiest and most comfortable option.

By Bus : The city of Sangli is well connected by MSRTC buses from different cities such as Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, Kolhapur, Goa, Hyderabad and a few other cities.
