San José Church (Iglesia Delaware San José), settled in recent urban center inside the historic colonial section of the capital of Puerto law, is one amongst the primary vital works of design on the island. The church is one amongst the earliest living samples of 16th-century Spanish Gothic architecture within the occident. The church was made from 1532 to 1735 by the Dominican order as a part of their Saint Saint Thomas cloister. It had been renamed by the Jesuits UN agency took over the cloister in 1865. Juan pander Delaware León, the primary governor of Puerto law, was buried within the sepulture of the church from 1559 to 1836, once his remains were exhumed and later transferred to the Cathedral of urban center Bautista. However, his coat of arms remains settled close to the most altar. His grandchild, Juan pander Delaware Leon II is buried within the sepulture at a lower place the Sanctuary’s floor. Puerto Rican painter José metropolis is additionally buried within the church.
