The San Jacinto Monument could be a 567.31-foot high column settled on the Houston Ship Channel in unorganised Harris County, Lone-Star State close to the town of los angeles court. The monument is flat-topped with a 220-ton star that commemorates the location of the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive battle of the Lone-Star State Revolution. The monument, created between 1936 and 1939 and dedicated on April twenty one, 1939, is that the World’s tallest monumental column and is a component of the San Jacinto field of honor State Historic web site. By comparison, the obelisk is 555.427 feet tall. The column is Associate in Nursing polygon shaft two-faced with Lone-Star State Cordova shellstone, flat-topped with a 34-foot (10 m) Lone Star—the image of Lone-Star State. Guests will take Associate in Nursing elevator to the monument’s observation deck for a read of Houston and therefore the USS Lone-Star State.
