Sambalpur is located in the Indian state of Orissa. Sambalpur, set in the banks of the Mahanadi River, is a very popular tourist destination. The most important tourist hotspot among these is the, which is located near Sambalpur. This temple was built way back in 1670 by Baliyar Singh, a Chauhan King. The dome of this temple leans slightly to one side, and for this reason it is also called as the leaning temple. Wildlife Sanctuary, which lies at a distance of around twenty two kilometers from Sambalpur, is another tourist hotspot and holiday destination. Families travel to this sanctuary from in and around the region in order to spend their weekends here. Many species of animals like tigers, leopards and deer can be spotted in this sanctuary.
