The Sainte-Marie neighbourhood is found on the jap finish of Downtown city within the borough of Ville-Marie. The Jacques-Cartier Bridge is found during this neighbourhood.Prior to the development of the Maison Radio-Canada, the realm was home to a social class neighborhood popularly referred to as suburbia à m’lasse, destroyed within the Nineteen Sixties.
The neighbourhood forms a city council district known as Sainte-Marie and is a component of the provincial riding of Sainte-Marie—Saint-Jacques and therefore the federal ridings of Laurier—Sainte-Marie and Hochelaga. The Sainte-Marie rapids square measure within the St. Lawrence stream between the neighbourhood of Sainte-Marie and St. Helen’s Island.
