Saint missionary University (abbreviated SXU) could be a four-year, co-ed establishment of upper learning placed within the southwest facet of Chicago, Illinois. Saint missionary University was based by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846 at the request of Bishop William Quarter. With the town of Chicago but 10 years recent, the Sisters of Mercy, below the steerage of Mother Virgin Mary Francis Warde, RSM, established Saint Francis missionary feminine Academy. The Academy, which might later become Saint missionary school, and eventually Saint missionary University, was the primary Mercy school within the World and is that the oldest chartered school within the town of Chicago.
