Detail InformationEdit
The Igls Parish Church is a superb example of splendid Baroque architecture. Among its most noticeable features are the Baroque Organ (installed in 1849) and the ornate ceiling mural that was created by Josef Schmutzer in 1777.
During the lovely summer months, the Parish Church serves as atmospheric backdrop to outstanding series of organ and sacred music concerts. (A detailed Concert Schedule is obtainable from the Igls Tourist Information Office).
Each year on Good Friday the more than 100 years old “Sepulcher” is on display in the Church. It is the elaborate work of Tirol´s famous painter Josef Arnold the Greater and dates back to the year 1862.
